Less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Byron Bay and located off Beech Drive between Baywood Chase and Byron Hills, this is a tranquil residential area away from the crowds.
Situated right next to a basketball court and two tennis courts with a skatepark just across from the basketball court, and surrounded by playing fields with another small playground at the entrance – this is a haven for numerous outdoor activities all in the one location.
Water and toilet facilities are available onsite and less than a 2 minute walk up the footpath is Baz ‘n’ Shaz; the local grocery store where you can stop off for a refreshing drink and snack.
Apart from the fantastic, new and well-equipped playground equipment, as a mother, one of the best things I like about this park is the lack of cars. Free parking is available at the main entrance to the park which is at the top end of the playing fields, near to the small playground. Other walkways from a number of streets on the estate lead on to the park with the one by the large playground leading to a stroller friendly footpath around the lake where you can stop on the way to feed the ducks.
It is worth noting that the Sportsfield, playground and skatepark facilities are on-leash dog areas and that dogs are prohibited from the area in or within (10) metres of the children’s play equipment.
However, for those that like to walk their dogs off-leash and for those with children that are fearful around them the Public Reserve, around the lake is an off-leash dog zone. For more information about these zones and highlighted demarcation areas click here.
