General Information
FARM KIDS TERM TIME MINI FARMERS PROGRAM
Farm Kids School Term Mini Farmers program runs during NSW school term and covers a variety of curriculum concepts as we cater to many children who are home schooled.
The kids become mini farmers and get set to work doing farm chores. Collecting eggs, checking fences, feeding animals, checking paddocks and more. They work in the Farm Kids garden, planting, weeding and harvesting. They cook, create and see where their food comes from as well as experience countless opportunities to learn about teamwork, community, natural remedies, sustainability and ethical farming practices.
The program runs from 9am – 3pm on Thursdays and is suitable for children aged between 5 and 12 years old. Each week focuses on a different topic with this terms emphasis on farming practices across a broad scope of topics from planting with the seasons to biodiversity.
Our program will run over 8 weeks. Children and teachers will learn together through rich discussion and the sharing of knowledge.
Children will get plenty of hands on experience as we explore The Farm, tend to the animals and upkeep our own small garden plot.
Each week children will do craft projects, that may sometimes span across several weeks. Upon completion, there will be some treasured items to take home.
TERM 3, 2026 – Thursday | 9am – 3pm | Ages 5 to 12 Years
Join us for an eight-week, hands-on Farm Kids Mini Farmers program designed to nurture curiosity, creativity and a deeper connection to nature.
This term, Farm Kids will become biodiversity guardians as we explore the insects, birds, reptiles and native animals that help a farm thrive. Through hands-on investigations, creative projects, nature journalling and practical farm experiences, children will discover how pollinators, pest controllers, seed spreaders, habitat builders, decomposers and predators all contribute to a healthy living ecosystem.
Grounded in Northern NSW farm ecology and regenerative farming principles, this program helps children understand that healthy farms work with nature rather than against it. Each week combines real observation, creative making, movement, discussion and stewardship, giving children meaningful ways to notice, respect and care for the living world around them.
