General Information
At The Farm Byron Bay we encourage kids to enjoy and learn from the surroundings of a real working farm. FarmKids inspires and educates children through our programs about where food comes from and introduces them to concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, the importance of pollination, organic farming, animal welfare, healthy soil, composting and other ethical farming practices. Children can meet up close our heritage black pigs and watch them in their natural surroundings and be amongst our chickens whilst enjoying some of the best things in life, sunshine and fresh air.
FarmKids is brought to you by Kidzklub Australia; all programs and workshops are written and activated by a team of educators with a focus on experiential learning and FUN!
SCHOOL HOLIDAY AND WORKSHOPS
At the beginning of each 3 hour workshop we take the children on a fun and interactive tour of The Farm. We get up close with pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. We taste, touch and smell and discuss concepts like paddock rotation, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting, animal welfare and other ethical farming practices. The children will get to crack and eat nuts, seeds, herbs, veggies and flowers and collect eggs. After the tour we head back to the barn where each day has a different point of discussion, cooking, gardening and craft focus.
Workshops are 3 hours in duration and suit children aged 5 -15 years.

MINI FARMERS PROGRAM
The kids become mini farmers and get set to work doing farm chores, collecting and cleaning eggs, checking fences, feeding animals, clearing paddocks and more. They work alongside the farmers from Liberation Larder in the market garden. They cook, create and see where their food comes from as well as experience countless opportunities to learn about teamwork, community, and ethical farming practices.
Mini Farmers sessions run from 9am – 3pm, 6.5 hours in duration (plus an hour break for lunch).
Mini Farmers runs all year round (both school holidays and school term) and suits enthusiastic, hardworking 7 – 15 year olds (in school holidays) and 5 – 15 year olds (in school term).
FARMKIDS PARTIES
Kids will love their Birthday party at The Farm.
