General Information

Railway Park is located smack bang in the centre of town, near to The Rails pub, Visitor Information Centre and opposite the Community Centre on Jonson Street. Recently redesigned and reopened in November 2019, the new nature playground consists of a number of slides, climbing tunnels and ropes plus a net swing. There’s plenty of seating and grassy areas to relax and enjoy a picnic and there are public toilets nearby.

It’s a handy park if you are strolling through town and your little ones are in need of a diversion from browsing the shops and you can enjoy the cool shade of the enormous Cottonwood trees with long-limbed low branches which are also fun for the children to clamber on.

Railway Park is also the location for the family friendly weekly Twilight Markets held every Saturday evening from 4pm-9pm during the summer months (mid October to Easter).
