Sharpes Beach - Ballina, Lennox Head

  • Coast Rd runs behind the beach with car parks at northern & southern end
  • Popular with both surfers and fishers alike
  • Northern end seasonally patrolled (see lifeguard services guide)
  • Dogs permitted on leash

General Information

Visible from the road with a boulder beach at the northern end and ample free parking running along the top, Sharpes Beach is popular with local beachgoers, surfers and fishers alike.

Sharpes Beach is not really a swimming beach and although patrolled during the summer months, (see lifeguard services guide)  its rips and rocks are potentially hazardous so you should ensure you and your children swim between the flags.

Just 5 minutes by car down The Coast Road south from Lennox Head or 10 minutes north from Ballina, Sharpes Beach is a quiet and uncrowded beach far enough away to relax and unwind but don’t forget to bring your own refreshments as there are no shops or kiosks nearby.

Although dogs are allowed on this beach, they are required to wear a leash at all times.
