General Information
Construction began in August 2022 on a new, all ages and abilities skate park in Byron Bay. Located on a precinct of land between the local library, courthouse and Byron Youth Activity centre, this much anticipated safe and inclusive community space was constructed by Convic – a high-ranking skatepark design and build company.
The new $2.6 million skatepark includes a variety of skate features including small ramps for young beginners, a street section all the way up to a competition level, 10 foot bowl for aspiring professionals.

In addition to the all abilities, all ages skate park, the site has been transformed into a dynamic, friendly and popular community hub featuring –
- Climbing boulder
- Table tennis table
- Accessible pathways and seating areas
- Yarning circle
- Cultural educational signage, including artwork competed by local Arakwal artists
Environmental restoration of areas adjacent to the new skatepark complete with reintroducing native trees was an important part of the project as was improving links between the Recreation Grounds, YAC, library and beach, ultimately providing safe and direct connection to these key areas.
Byron Shire Council has worked with local Arakwal people and the Tweed Byron Local Aboriginal Land Council who generously agreed to make the land available for this project. The cultural value of the site has been celebrated through a variety of artworks, plantings and interpretive signage.
Nearby Skateparks include: Suffolk Park skatepark – less than 10 minutes south of Byron Bay where you can also check out the Suffolk Park Pump Track there too!
